Former Ghana superstar Michael Essien is without a club these days. Once a feared sight in midfield, the Bison has mellowed lately.
Injuries have taken a heavy toll on the man once described by the Fifa Magazine as "a complete player" and has seen him move from club to club.
He now says he has been training with the reserve side of his former team Chelsea, where he came into true global prominence. "I remain active and train with Chelsea (Reserves) who are always polite and good to me,” Essien told gazzetta.gr.
After cancelling his most recent deal with Greek side Panathinaikos, the midfielder is keeping himself in shape for a club. “I hope to find a club where my family and I would feel comfortable," he added.
He has also played for AC Milan and Real Madrid.
