New Ghana coach Kwasi Appiah must win the 2019 Nations Cup, the country’s FA has demanded.

This is one of four outlined targets handed the former Al-Khartoum coach on his return to the post he initially occupied between 2012 and 2014.

At Appiah’s unveiling on Tuesday, vice president of the Ghana Football Association and chairman of the Black Stars management team, George Afriyie said first the coach must “build a very strong national team A and B.”

“He is to qualify us to the Afcon [Africa Cup of Nations] 2019” and “win it”.

“He [Kwasi Appiah] should employ his best possible and qualify Ghana to the World Cup 2018,” Afriyie enumerated.

Kwasi Appiah kicked off his new two-year journey at the beginning of May. He has five games lined up in a space of three months - a 2019 Afcon qualifying game at home to Ethiopia on June 11, two international friendlies against Mexico and USA on the 28 June and 1 July respectively and a double header 2018 Chan qualifier against Burkina Faso with the Black Stars B team.
