Globetrotting Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso’s next move could be to English football, he has hinted.

Coming from a week in which it emerged that Championship side Reading FC are on his heels, the 26-year-old has also admitted looking in the direction.

Supersport.com understands Reading initiated moves to land the Black Stars kingpin last month, but the player dragged his feet as he wanted to be sure the club would secure promotion to the Premier League.

Wakaso remained silent about which particular club had shown interest as he interacted with reporters at a football clinic by West Ham forward Andre Ayew in Accra on Saturday.

”I don’t have much to say about this,” he mentioned when asked about Reading’s interest.

“But it’s true there are links with some clubs in England but I’m waiting for the deal to finalise. I am expecting a move to England very soon,” Wakaso added.

Mubarak Wakaso, currently on the books of Greek side Panathinaikos, just completed a half-season loan with Granada who got relegated from the Spanish La Liga. The club had expressed interest in making his stay permanent but later pulled out with manager Tony Adams explaining that he is a “very expensive player” for his side.
