Italian rider Franco Morbidelli edged to his sixth Moto2 win of the year in the German Grand Prix to extend his world championship lead on Sunday.

The Kalex rider pipped Portugal's Miguel Oliveira to the line at the Sachsenring by just 0.066 seconds, as Francesco Bagnaia finished third.

The 22-year-old Morbidelli now leads the riders' standings by 37 points, after his title rivals Thomas Luethi and Alex Marquez both failed to finish.
